Welcome to Downton Motor Club

Downton Motor Club is more than just a car club - as well as a range of exciting car related meetings, rallies and competitions we also have a number of shows and fun activities for all the family.

Throughout the year we also have our own fantastic set of 'Speed' Championships with qualifying events run at major motorsport venues across the country - these championships offer an affordable range of motorsport thrills and all at a reasonable cost.

The 2024 Speed Championship is underway!

The season opener was at the Clay Pigeon Raceway on the 17th March. It was great to see a good turnout of members in the Downton Class and a healthy number of Club members supporting their endeavours. Results from the first round can be found under the Motorsport tab.

Its not too late to join in - the Championship is open to all members of the Downton Motor Club and we still have 29 rounds to go!.

Yes, its all coming together quite nicely - it looks like being another fantastic year of competition at Downton Motor Club!

It is with great pleasure that we announce Adam Holland as the new Chairman of Downton Motor Club.

Adam had a very impressive year in the Downton Speed Championship piloting his BMW Mini R50 - the photo shows Adam with his many trophies at the DMC AGM and Awards Presentation evening.

Adam, on behalf of all Club members we thank you for taking on this responsibility and the Committee look forward to working alongside you in 2024.

Membership for 2024 is now open. We have some exciting plans for 2024 and if you are interested in Motorsport then there will be a 'Downton' class at over 30 motorsport events in 2024!

Looking to try some Motorsport?

Downton Motor Club is synonymous with the name ‘Mini’ and for 2024 we have special classes in our Speed Championships for road legal R50 and R53 BMW Minis (Class 4 and 4A). As we are running in a ‘road legal’ format there are no need for fire extinguishers, cut off switches, roll cages or full harnesses.

We have Downton Classes at 30+ events in 2024 - starting in March and going right through until the end of October. The ‘Speed’ calendar includes Sprints at famous circuits like Goodwood, Pembrey, Llandow and spectacular hillclimbs at venues like Wiscombe Park, Shelsley Walsh and Prescott - something for everyone.
